Hi Eric,
Well I’m now officially convinced that your training and school reputation has helped me land my first job! I just got a job with Avbase Aviation in Cleveland, OH as a Flight Coordinator doing basically a little bit of everything (flight planning, crew scheduling, some price quoting, setting up catering, accomodations, etc.). The pay starts at $12.02 an hour with possible over-time/bonuses as well as the standard benefits package. I apparently reminded (the supervisor) at Avbase (who also went through your program) of himself when he was just starting out. The similarity was a very young guy with no experience except college trying to find his first job. He started out with no aviation job experience and transitioned into the Sheffield program as a base. He saw that common bond, and was willing to give a young 22 year old a Rshot! As opposed to gauging employment on experience, they are taking me under their wing with the long road of learning about the business ahead of me. They want me to succeed as much as I do. With the reputation of your program, companies are able to make generalizations about your graduates that they will be competent, have determination, be hard-working, and have a positive attitude. A perfect example of this is my interview with (another airline). They only hire Sheffield graduates as dispatchers, and that has to say something! Thanks for your recommendations, Eric, they were a tremendous help to me..

Sheffield note: To receive the Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate, an individual must be at least 23 years of age; however, the course may be taken if you are under 23. If the course is successfully passed, the graduate receives a Letter of Aeronautical Competency. Once he or she turns 23, they receive the Certificate with a minimal amount of paperwork required. In the meantime, as in the above case, the graduate can work as an assistant in operations – it’s a good head start! Eric M.
