What You Need to Know About FAA Flight Dispatcher License

FAA flight dispatcher license requirements:

  1. Must be at least 23 years of age
  2. High school graduate or international equivalent education
  3. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English Language
  4. Minimum 200 hours of instruction
  5. Passing Score on FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Practical Test

If you check off all those boxes, you’ll have your FAA flight dispatcher license. Flight Dispatcher Course

Sheffield School of Aeronautics flight dispatcher courses are open to applicants over the age of 21. The certification can only be given to applicants who meet all the requirements, including the minimum age requirement (23 years-old).

Applicants under the age of 23 who pass the practical test and pass the FAA Practical Test will receive a letter of aeronautical competency in accordance with FAA Order 8900.1 Volume 12, Chapter 3, Section 4. This will allow you to work as an assistant until you reach 23 years-old. Then, the FAA will automatically issue your aircraft dispatcher certificate.

FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Practical Test

The Federal Aviation Administration creates the standards for the practical test, which are discussed during the flight dispatcher course. To successfully pass the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Practical Test you must:

– Exhibit a satisfactory performance in the specific tasks

– Follow normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures

– Demonstrate sound judgement and aeronautic decision making

– Apply aeronautic knowledge
