International Students Choosing to Study Aviation

If you are an international student who wants to study aviation in the U.S., but you have no idea where to start, then how do you know what specific field you want to study or how to choose your aviation school? Since aviation is a highly technical field, certifications or degrees are recommended. While the cost of large aviation schools that offer degrees can be more expensive for students, international students are flocking to smaller aviation schools that have certificate programs. Sheffield’s School of Aeronautics is proud to be a part of the Student and Exchange Visitors Program or SEVIS approved.

It is important for international students to know which field they specifically want to study. There are many different fields and concentrations in aviation to choose from. Students may be interested in areas of study like meteorology, aviation computer science, aircraft dispatching, international flight planning, or extended operations.

Choosing the right aircraft dispatching school can be the hardest part, as well as the most expensive. If money is of concern, the best schools to choose are those that offer certificate programs. You will find a variety of information in your field, as well as hands-on curriculum. Certifications are received faster than most degrees, allowing you to start an airline career within a year.
