Keeping Kids Happy is a Priority for Airlines

Let’s face it, every traveler has experienced looking up and seeing the mom with the newborn boarding the plane and praying they do not have the seat next to them. Having an unhappy child 30,000 feet up in the sky is not a pleasant experience, especially on a long flight. This is why it should come as no surprise that keeping kids happy is a priority for airlines and aircraft dispatchers.

The research and development of inflight products for children is a big business. An Australian-based inflight children’s product company has worked with leading commercial airlines; including: Qatar Airways, Korean Air, Jetstar, and Emirates, to create activities, amenities, and meal services for children.

Group account director of Buzz, Alison Davies, commented saying, “The entertainment of children is of key importance to ALL passengers on every flight. We have developed innovative and inspiring inflight products to provide maximum support to parents along their journey. Some airlines are quite conscious about what they put in the meals and try to avoid too many sugary snacks, but some need a good lesson in healthy eating.”

Airlines have opted out of processed chicken nuggets and are offering children options like pasta with shrimp, potato wedges with tomato sauce, and cheese-filled dumplings. But the changes do not end there, airlines are creating playful packaging to help with entertainment. Air France created a spoon, fork and knife that can be transformed into an aircraft, EVA airlines serves kids meals in Hello Kitty boxes with bowtie-shaped bowls.

So whether you are the stewardess traveling 5-hours with the toddlers, the aircraft dispatcher ensuring the flight is safe, or a worker at Buzz, you understand the value of keeping children happy and quiet for all passengers’ sake.
