Prepare for the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Knowledge (ADX) Exam
After successfully completing (passing) your flight dispatcher course at a FAA Part 65 Aircraft Dispatcher school, the graduate would prepare to take an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher practical (certification) exam. If you attend a well-established dispatcher school like Sheffield School of Aeronautics, work hard, and pass the course, then you will be prepared for the certification exam.
However, prior to all of this is one side prerequisite that is part of the overall prerequisites needed to enter the FAA Practical/certification exam, and that is the ADX test. It can be a stumbling block for students who not take it seriously or who do not adequately prepare for it.
At our aircraft dispatcher school, we want our students to succeed and earn their dispatcher certificate, so we have put together some tips on how to prepare for this particular test – the ADX.
How to Study for the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher (ADX) Test
The first step to prepare for the FAA aircraft dispatcher (ADX) test is to know what to expect. The ADX is an exam taken on a computer terminal. The ADX test is 80 questions long. You have 3 hours (or up to 3 hours and 30 minutes, depending on FAA policy) to complete it and must get a score of 70% or higher to pass.
Basically, there are a few ways to study for the ADX test.
To do this, there are a variety of methods:
Apply for our 5-week course, pay the $500 registration fee, and you will gain online access to the ADX Test prep material.
Apply for any of our 3 ‘blended learning’ courses consisting of online training followed by 1, 2, or 3 weeks of residency (in-classroom) training. Online access for the ADX Test prep in addition to the more involved, detailed certification course material online costs $1,500. You’d gain Phase I online access and separate ADX study access, but you’d be juggling 2 things at once. Possible, but not recommended. We would hate for you to lose your Phase I online time by studying the ADX. If you can manage both the ADX and “Sheffield online” material, and not procrastinate, it is possible.
