Airline Satisfaction is at an All Time High

It seems as though people are actually pretty happy with airlines these days, which is good news for everyone from aircraft dispatchers to baggage handlers. J.D. Powers, the world’s leading market research company, just recently released its findings related to airline passenger satisfaction, and they are surprisingly good. People are happier with almost all aspects of airline travel as of late.

Travel is a multifaceted story. It starts as early as booking the plane ticket, packing your suitcase, arriving at the airport, checking in, security lines, navigating the busy terminal, boarding, flight, arrival, baggage claim and you’re done. There’s a lot that can go wrong, and it often does. A recent study showed that U.S. airlines have had an increase in customer complaints, but as airline profits soar, they are investing back into their companies. Newer planes and better staff, which leads to less bumpy routes (thank your aircraft dispatchers!), and more streamlined services.

Numerous pilots, flight attendants, and aircraft dispatchers have heard that satisfaction rates are the highest they have been since 2006. Some point to the mindset of the passengers, saying that nothing has really changed for the better except the traveler’s mindset. We have come to terms with extra fees, delays, painfully long security lines, and taking off our shoes before we have even boarded the aircraft.
As the airline industry grows, this may be the perfect time to get into it. Aircraft dispatcher jobs are a cushy way to bypass all that airport chaos and still work for a great airline. Check out the Sheffield School of Aeronautics blog article that details why aircraft dispatchers have an important job.
