Full Swing Aircraft Dispatch Testing for Emergency Scenarios
Aircraft dispatch testing and training is vital to the success of all flights, which is well known. Dispatchers are amongst the most important ground crews for all flights, and it is imperative that the aircraft dispatch testing weeds out those who are not ready to take on the job. Furthermore, what about testing the equipment that is used?
An aircraft dispatcher may be good at his or her job, but if the equipment fails, there is not a lot that can be done. Rigorous and consistent emergency training must be conducted on equipment regularly to ensure that an aircraft dispatcher’s career is not marred by constant emergency scenarios.
Aircraft dispatchers and radio operators will often test the equipment from time, at the behest of the airlines they work for. This equipment is an essential part of all aircraft dispatcher’s careers, and when working with these electronics for so long, it is important to guarantee effectiveness.
The equipment is tested during full-scale exercises, which is the only way that they can be guaranteed to function during real world scenarios.
Although an aircraft dispatcher’s career may be spent at the communications center in Chicago, all aircraft dispatch testing covers emergency weather specific to places all over the world; i.e. tornadoes, hurricanes, and flash thunderstorms. So the communication equipment must be tested as well.
If the aircraft dispatcher training was sufficient, most dispatchers can continue to perform their duties in emergency situations using older methods: pencils and paper, but the convenience and effectiveness of electronic equipment cannot be beaten.
