Sidebar CD“I wanted to tell you I got the job offer from Expressjet, and start next month! I think a couple others from class were hired as well. It just shows the Sheffield reputation when I see graduates from other schools complaining that they can’t get an interview – I wasn’t even back home to Minneapolis […]
Dan Gustafson“now that I’ve been in an indoctrination class with students from other schools, I know I made the right choice with Sheffield.” Kindest regards, A.R.

ADX Test for Aircraft Dispatcher School
Although some preparation is recommended before entering aircraft dispatching school, students are always advised to only study material that is distributed by Sheffield School of Aeronautics in structures.
When selecting which course is best for you, instructors may convey that FAA knowledge will be beneficial, but it is not required. The ADX exam is an essential part of the process to become an aircraft dispatcher.
Students who take the 5-week aircraft dispatcher course will have ample time to study and prepare for the ADX test, but students who opt to take the 3-week, 2-week, and 1-week course are encouraged to take and pass the ADX course in advance; this will make your time at Sheffield a lot less fraught with complications.
The FAA distributes ADX test samples on their website, which can be helpful. If a prospective student wishes to take their time and gain as much as knowledge and as many qualifications as they can, the 5-week course is a much better option.
Any students with a working knowledge of the industry or students that are motivated and passionate, can sign up for the accelerated courses and should pass the ADX test prior to arrival of the 2-week course.
Be wary of aircraft dispatcher schools that push the accelerated courses. Sheffield has garnered a reputation for excellent graduates because we do not take sort-cuts lightly. If the aircraft dispatching school is pushing an accelerated course and you are uncomfortable with your ability to pass the ADX test, you should find another school.
