Cincinnati-based aircraft manufacturer Field Aviation Inc., a subsidiary of Field Aerospace, has made its first acquisition.
The company purchased Aerospace Systems Engineering and Support (ASES) by Rockwell Collins. Rockwell Collins Inc. is located in Iowa and is the world’s leading aerospace defense company that provides IT services and avionic support to government agencies.
Field Aerospace has been servicing the aerospace industry since 1947. The company is considered one of the most knowledgeable and experienced aircraft modification companies in North America.
The acquisition of ASES brings Field Aviation an additional 500+ employees and a 350,000 square foot hanger of production space. The ASES will provide additional aircraft modifications, maintenance services, and avionic logistic capabilities to Field Aviation.
The merger will enable Field Aviation to grow into new territory since ASES focused on larger airframe modifications and Field only focuses on regional aircraft. The acquisition will help both companies benefit from the other.
Before the acquisition of ASES, Field Aviation was ranked 141 of the list of largest privately owned companies, with over 300 employees and $65 million in annual revenue.
Field President and CEO John Mactaggart said, “When we purchased Field Aviation in 2012, we wanted to use the company as a launching point for further acquisitions, particularly in the United States. Today marks the first such purchase. The combined capabilities will allow Field to expand its product offerings from a small turboprop all the way up to the largest of jet aircraft.”
