Sidebar NSGood afternoon Eric, I wanted to reach out to let you know that training at (airline) is in full swing and I couldn’t be happier that I chose Sheffield. Where Aircraft Dispatchers Work
Most airlines have all their aircraft dispatchers working in a single location. These control centers are crucial to airline operations and are found near airports across the United States. Trained aircraft dispatchers may find employment in their own backyards, or they may have the opportunity to travel somewhere new and exciting. These are just a few of the many locations dispatchers live and work.
Wilderness Retreat
Alaska’s huge size and relatively undeveloped road system mean that planes are an important part of Alaskan life. Cargo and people travel regularly between cities and towns, as well as to and from the continental United States. Anyone looking for a challenging career in an extreme environment should consider working a dispatch position in America’s Last Great Frontier.
Urban Jungle
Many popular airlines have command centers in or near major metropolitan areas. These include (but are not limited to):
• Denver, CO: Frontier Airlines
• Dallas/Fort Worth: American Airlines and Southwest Airlines
• Atlanta, GA: Delta Airlines
• Chicago, IL: United Airlines
• Seattle, WA: Alaska Airlines
• Las Vegas, NV: Allegiant Airlines
Island Living
Like Alaska, Hawaii’s more remote location calls for increased air transportation between its many islands. Or, the especially adventurous dispatcher might consider signing up to live and work on Kwajalein, a small but beautiful stretch of sand and surf in the remote Marshall Islands where civilian contractors support the U.S. Military.
Aircraft dispatch is a challenging and rewarding career that can be performed in cities, towns, and even remote outposts all across the country.
