Eric,
I like many others including past, current, and future students of Sheffield chose Sheffield because of the quality of training that is provided. Knowing that at the end of our training we are given the opportunity to showcase our newly learned skills is a highly rewarding feeling. Being able to walk out into the job market with our dispatcher certificate gives us a leg up on others applying for the same position...

Great! Thanks Eric. I'm well aware of how far the school has come, in my class back in 1980 we used to jokingly say that your dad's biggest expense was paper and toner for the copy machine.
Just before I retired from FedEx I was a GOC training and standards instructor and taught many initial classes, the Sheffield students always seemed much better prepared than the others.

Dear Eric
I hope you're doing well?! It has been a while since we last spoke, last time was my exam on April 1st. Once again I want to thank you for the great time at your school, I've learned a lot. Your reputation here in Switzerland is very good, I was at Ebace in Geneva, a Corporate Jet exhibition, where everybody kept telling me that it was a very smart move to attend your course.

I graduated from Sheffield in April of 1995. I was offered an interview with an airline a few days before I graduated. I got the job because of the Sheffield name.
Sheffield is highly regarded in the aviation industry. I will say that the school is not a "license factory" because you will earn the license. Should you choose to attend you won't regret it.

Greetings Eric-
Just so you know, I got the job I wanted, thanks to Sheffield. I had one place in mind to work. They were hiring when I graduated. I applied along with 211 other applicants for four slots (recession job market). I was one of the four selected. I really enjoy this work and firmly believe I have the best job in aviation. I am in my second year and could not be happier with this career. My only regret is that I
didn't get into this sooner. Thanks!

Subject: A Very Big Thank You
Eric,
I know it’s been a while since we last spoke (about 8 months), but I wanted to email and say hello, and thank you! It’s been an interesting 8 months to say the least. You really weren’t kidding when you said getting your dispatch license was only the beginning. I learn something new every day.
I finished my probationary period in the beginning of January, and have successfully worked through a full summer and half of a winter dispatching for Airtran Airways.
You’ll be glad to know that I’ve been pitching your school to anyone who asks, and without the hard work that you and you’re colleges have put in, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today, and I truly want to thank you for that. Attending Sheffield was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. If there’s anything I can do to help you out in anyway, please don’t hesitate to ask.
I hope you and you’re family had a great holiday season, and thank you. Tell everyone I said hi.

Hi Eric,
Firstly, let me start with hello. Hope all is well.
Ya know, I have to be honest, (the instructor) told us in class one day, when it was getting tuff (so that was just after day 1, lol) to just keep going, it would be worth it in the end. He was absolutely right. I’m very proud of that license and how hard I worked to get it. I listen to people who went to other schools and mentally compare it to the level of education I received there and it’s just a world of difference. So Thank you…
Appreciate all your help,
K.S.

I am now working as a dispatcher/flight follower for Sky Lease Cargo (d/b/a Tradewinds Airlines) in Greensboro NC. Been on the job since the beginning of December and so far everything's going well. I've been learning a lot on the job and it's providing me with plenty of challenges and real-world international flight planning experience. I'd like to thank you again for the excellent instruction I received in your course. I believe graduation from your program is the main reason I got this job.

Wow, it's hard to believe that we'll be in FLL soon. The dispatchers at work have been so supportive. When things quiet down in the evenings, a couple of the guys will throw questions out to me to quiz me. This has been the first on-line course I've taken, and the course is really well designed to break the material down into digestable parts, while the homeworks and quizzes really challenge you to ensure that you've taken it all in. Obviously, that is the point, I know. We have a lot of Sheffield grads in the office, and they all speak very highly of their experience. I am very excited to get down there and finish up my studies.
Thank you,

Subject: Re: Sheffield followup: Southern Air
Eric,
My career as an aviation professional has been a rewarding experience and the number of opportunities available to me have a direct relation to my decision to attend Sheffield above all other certification programs. After a year of part 121 dispatching at a regional airline, the skills provided by the FAA Dispatcher Certification Course provided me with the knowledge and confidence to perform my duties to the best of my ability with an attention to detail, safety and efficiency. The curriculum served me very well at the outset and continues to do so today.
It has always been my career goal as a dispatcher to work international routes on heavy jet aircraft. It was with this in mind that I completed the Advanced International Flight Planning and ETOPS workshops right after graduation. Today I'm pleased to report that this goal will be achieved in my employment with Southern Air where I will dispatch flights throughout the world on 747 and 777 aircraft, and I couldn't be any happier.
When the position had been posted, the airline stated that they would accept completion of the AIFP/ETOPS workshops in lieu of international dispatch experience. Of course, their confidence in the curriculum likely had something to do with the fact that their Chief Pilot and Director of Systems Operations attended the workshops personally. With this in mind, I can say with some confidence that had I gone elsewhere for my dispatch training this would not have been an opportunity available to me at this stage of my career.
I would strongly encourage incoming students to complete the International workshops offered at Sheffield. Even though I didn't have cause to use the information in my first job at a regional, the information covered in the binders not only bolstered a drive I had to make this my career goal but it obviously was impressive enough for my new employer to consider me a worthy candidate capable of meeting the challenges and complexities that international flight planning presents. Having left the binders on the shelf for quite a while, as I prepare myself for the task at hand I nonetheless find the material clear, concise, engaging and very useful in bringing myself back up to speed. I have no doubt that after I revisit the coursework in its entirety that it will prove to be as valuable as the curriculum of the Dispatcher Certification Course has been.
Thanks very much and, to whomever else may read this, go to Sheffield - a world of opportunity awaits.

Experience in daily business in the GOC has shown that all Sheffield

Subject: Good news!
Dear Eric, I have good news, in February I start at DHL Dispatch! This is a classic Dispatch and this was my dream, since Sheffield my whole life changed to a better way!
If you are a Sheffield graduate, it is like the Harvard school for
Dispatcher, I had so many offers, many doors will be open, it is fantastic.
They build now a huge Dispatch office at Leipzig, we have than Boeing
757, Airbus 300 and for the old Airbusses, we get Boeing 767! Great!
My new Supervisor was also at Sheffield! If you have a FAA license and you are from Sheffield, you have a very good reputation. I will start now in a classic Dispatch, and I am hired as an Flight Dispatcher, this is what I wanted, I will learn a lot.
The training with you and Jordan and Brett was great - we had here in Europe very bad wx, but due to Sheffield Training I had control of my fleet, I cannot change the wx, but I can adjust the fuel requirements, redispatch, amendments, and provide a very good Pilot briefing! You see the difference between having a license or not. Good for me!
All the best,
A. Wiencke

Eric, Jordan and Brett,
I wanted to thank you all for everything you provided
to me and my collegues in the June/July 2009 dispatcher
course. I have to say it was the most difficult thing
(educationally at least) I have ever done. I wouldn't
have had it any other way. Jordan and Brett are incredibly
knowledgeable and you are lucky to have them as part
of your team.
Apparently the hard work and incredible training you
have given me means something. Less than a week out
of class and I had already recieved a call from Pinnacle

second interview. I am sure that the knowledge you have
given me will prepare me well for whichever company
I end up at. Thanks again for everything you have given

Subject: Reputation at UPS
Mr. Morris,
I thought it might be informative to let you and any
potential students
know that Sheffield's good reputation precedes itself,
again. While
visiting the Air Operations Control at UPS, any
time I dropped the name
"Sheffield" as a likely destination for dispatcher
training the reaction
was undeniably positive.
I had no idea that when UPS started its airline
operations they had Sheffield come into Louisville
to train their
employees, or so I was told by the manager I met
with who was one of
those students. Those
testimonials on your page are to be taken more
seriously by prospective students as more than just
a marketing tactic-
the reputation your program has earned in this operations
center is
remarkable. I look forward to attending
the course and learning as much
as possible.
