Eric,
Again I wanted to thank you for the online material and correspondence.
It brought me back to full understanding of how much I do love aviation
and with respect for the shear magnitude of knowledge required to
be an efficient dispatcher. SWP

Well I just got back from LasarGrade taking my ADX test....I PASSED
with an 89! Your online questions and practice tests where great.
I am attending the 6-week class starting in June...I will bring the
original copy of my test results with me but should I fax a copy down
so you can put it in my file or something like that. Thanks again
for the great online help and I look forward to class starting in
a few weeks. Thanks,

…the knowledge I gained from your course has been wonderful!!
When I open an IFR I can read and understand all the terms - and I
am able to communicate with the pilots and base ops with more confidence
and realize the importance of weather. Comparing the civilian world
with military has been very interesting. Thanks again, Loretta L.

We need well trained dispatchers at ---- Airways. I
have recommended that (we) hire Sheffield graduates since Sheffield
is the world's premier dispatch school. Thanks - T.

After I finished the class in 2005, I started to dispatch flights
in Air Europa. It really a great experience.
All thanks to all of you for the recognition the school has.
By the way, I´m looking foward to be at Sheffield in October
to have the ETOPS and the International Flight Planning course. Thank
you very much for everything and hope to see you in October. I have
great memories from all of you.

After interviewing with 4 companies and flying from coast to coast
doing so I am happy to inform you I am working for PrivatAir out of
Stratford, CT. So far so good and the future looks very bright here.
I was offered jobs at 3 out of the 4
companies I interviewed with and all stated that Sheffield was the
main reason they contacted me for an interview. I
would like to thank you for all the training and preparation, it certainly
paid off. The course really put my
life in a new direction and I couldn't be happier...
I will keep you posted on my progress.

I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch since my Sheffield graduation in
September 2003. Since that time I have been a dispatcher with Great
Lakes Airlines in Cheyenne, Wyoming; for the last one and a half years
I have been a chief dispatcher and dispatch instructor. I am currently
in a ground school to be a first officer on the Beech 1900; after
I finish this I will split my time between dispatch, dispatch instruction,
and flying. Although my schedule will be extremely full I believe
it will be very rewarding. Thank you
to Sheffield and all of the great people there..for helping me to
achieve my career goals.

...another
sad story...
Wed,

My name is “PM” and I recently attended a dispatch school
in --- --. To make a long story short, my experience was horrible
and they are pushing me to take my practical exam, which I do not
currently feel as though I am ready to take. I am concerned at the
lack of instruction that was given on weather and navigation as these
seem to be a key to dispatching and feel that even if I was to pass
my exam, that I would fail as a dispatcher in the real world. I am
fairly adept at manual flight planning and can spin winds and such,
I just think that weather is a little bit more important than one
hour in a (long) class. I guess my question is, I passed my (ADX)
exam and would like to do a class for the practical that includes
meteorology. I need to know where I have to go to do this and what
I have to pay. I am not quitting because of the failure of one school...I
want this license. So...if you could give me any advice… I would
be grateful.
Thanks

Subject: Gainfully employed
Eric,
Just to let you know that I was hired by ------ --C and begin tomorrow.
Apparently another Sheffield grad from about 6 years ago works there
also although we haven't met yet. “--”, who I interviewed
with, was commenting that he'd interviewed grads of ------ Academy
over the last few years and most couldn't spell TAF or METAR, let
alone read one. Thanks again for the thorough training.

...this

Things are going great for me. I just thought
I would pass on to you how my career is progressing in the Dispatch
world. I graduated from Sheffield in Sep of 2001. In fact I was in
the class room at Sheffield the morning of 9/11 when our country was
attacked. That was a day I will never forget. Anyway, I began my career
that same month at ASA as an Aircraft Dispatcher and eventually was
promoted to Air Traffic Control Sector Manager. I stayed at ASA for
almost 5 years. In July of 2006, I left ASA and joined AirTran Airways
as a Dispatcher. I have gained a lot of new experience during my time
here. Earlier this week, I was offered a job as a Flight Superintendent
with Delta Airlines. Needless to say, I accepted the offer and will
begin my employment with them in the middle of March. Delta rarely
hires from outside the company, so I feel so lucky to have this opportunity.
I am so thankful that I chose to attend Sheffield. I still have my
big “Green book” and refer to it often. The training I
received at your school was top notch. I have finally reached my dream
job, and I truly believe that if you try to do your very best in everything
you do, you can reach any goal you set for yourself. Thanks again,
Eric, for giving me an excellent foundation in this profession.
Regards,
L. Green

Just wanted to thank you..for all of the sleepless nights. It has
really helped me to excel as a dispatcher at PSA airlines. You definitely
have to know those regs, weather, and approach plates very well and
I am glad I went through Sheffield's school of sleepless nights. I
am getting ready to apply for a dispatch supervisor position and let
everyone know that if they ever need help … to email me. Take
care and thanks a lot again guys.

First of all I want to say THANK YOU again for the great experience
making the 6 weeks course in your school! It was great and I feel
much more confident in work than before. My colleagues don't stop
asking me questions and I’m very surprised that I can answer
them for most of the Questions!

Mr. Morris,
I don't know if you remember me or not, but I had planned to take
your 6 week course back in 2005. Unfortunately, my circumstances did
not allow me to follow through with my plans...When I saw your new
DL-5 Day option, I was thrilled. I knew all along your training
was the best and the addition of the DL course makes the whole thing
work for me...I've had a chance to examine this profession and the
available training even more. I've taken
a closer look at several other schools and I discovered their weaknesses--some
of which I did not see in 2005. The big issue for me is who teaches
practical dispatching skills. There's no question you devote more
time to this than anyone else--this is all the more important for
someone like myself who has no aviation background. I am very
impressed with how you set up the DL portion of the course--better
than a couple of college DL courses I have taken.
...The fact that you require this exam to be passed before
starting the online modules proves that you
are more devoted to teaching real world skills. I'm
a former teacher and I am not a fan of standardized tests--too much
emphasis on them. I seriously doubt an interviewer is going to give
me a standardized test! I want to know the job--not how to pass a
test.
Thank you,
ER

Subject: ETOPS thank you.......
Thank you so much for your reply to my ETOPS query! It gave me the
confidence to action this issue with Flight Operations management;
the result of which is that there will be some ‘additions’
to our operations manuals. On top of that our training manuals for
our pilots have been reviewed and clarified in regards to this! ....very
much look forward to being back at Sheffield later this year (October).
