"Wanted to give you guys an update. I've been dispatching for just over four months now with xxx and things are going great. When I came out to interview my boss only asked me a few dispatching questions and referenced the fact that I went to Sheffield as to why the questions were so limited. He said that he respects the school and knows the caliber of student that graduates. As an interesting side note the fellow I was in ground school with here at xxx went to a dispatch school which will remain nameless but is located in Denver, CO. He struggled to make it through ground school specifically referencing the fact that they never even taught him simple things like xxx & xxxx. When I was first looking for a dispatch school I couldn't find much in the way of feedback about schools besides what I found on your website, and it being your website I was suspect as to it's validity. After graduating and now dispatching for a while I have come to realize that all the testimonials on your site have to be absolutely true and accurate."

P.S. I am slated to become a chief dispatcher sometime early next year.
Sincerely,
F.N. - Graduate Dispatch class June '08

Just wanted to say hello and thank you again for your fine training. I have been dispatching now for over 3 years and the information I took away from your course not only allowed me to pass the federally mandated test for a dispatcher's license but gave me insight into the practical applications of the knowledge I obtained and how to effectively use it in a dispatching environment.
Thanks again, D.R.

Dear Brett (instructor),
I know I barely managed to scribble in on the comments form you passed last after the course, At the time i was so excited,, out of this world and while i felt alot of things, gratitude among them I just could not put any of that in writting at the time. I am not sure its in order to write back but i have felt the burden to wite a few lines to express how so very happy indeed i was with the way the course was conducted, the humor in class, the attention to detail (it makes more sense now) and honestly i have never known anyone, any teacher or instructor who was so patient with everyone, never tiring to answer questions and just giving everyone as much time even more than they actually deserve, that personal touch. You were amazing Brett and keep up the Good work. Such dedication has to pay off. i never thought i would say this ever but i actually miss class..even the adrenaline...keep up the good Job Brett and thankyou very very much for your patience, support, hell for everything.

Subject: RE: Interviews and Recommendations

The job hunt is going very well. I'm going to xx. next week for a face-to-face next Wednesday with xxxx Air. Obviously, Sheffield was a big factor for xxxxxxx and xxxx Air, but I have an interesting story for you.

A friend of mine in D.C. was at a barbecue in his neighborhood, and it turns out one of his neighbors is a director of operations working with companies like ARINC and Air Routing. My friend said I had recently finished dispatching school and asked if he'd be willing to help in the job hunt. The guy asked where I went to school and, not knowing exactly, my friend told him it was a school in Ft. Lauderdale. The neighbor said it was probably Sheffield, and that if it was, to have me send him a copy of my resume and he'd talk to his contacts. So far he's talked with people at four companies, without ever having met me, on the merit of th e Sheffield name alone! Best investment I ever made!

Thanks again for everything,
S.F.

P.S. Apparently I was the first one to get the xxxx Air interviewer's "stumper question." The answer was .... They were pretty blown away when I rattled that one off! I know I wouldn't have gotten it with out your thoroughness, however.

Subject: Thank you
Hi Eric;

I just completed my Comp Check here at xxx Airlines in ..., and I wanted to say thanks to you and Brett for making it possible. After all the late nights and very little sleep and trying to absorb so much information and finally Graduating from the six week course and passing both the Oral and Practical exams, its paid off now.

Going through the six week dispatcher course prepared me so well for Basic Indoc at xxx and thus I sailed right through my comp check, Others in my
Class were not as prepared and one was asked to leave as he was not prepared at all (he went to a school in xxx) even in basic wx theory and forget about xxxx, he would just stare at the instructor and ask "what’s that."

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a Certificated Dispatcher and to be a proud and knowledgeable Pinnacle Dispatcher, Thanks again for believing
In my abilities and being there for us. Please thank Brett for being as hard and demanding as he was, I can see his philosophy now. Please feel free to use me as a reference at any time.

Sincerely
M.K.

Subject: dispatch questions
Mr Morris,
I have some questions regarding the Sheffield Dispatch school and if it can
benefit me in some way. I am a resident of the greater Houston area. Last year my interest in aviation led me to self study and take the ADX
written.. I then enrolled in the Dispatch program at xxx. I passed the class as well (top marks) and received my ADX certificate. Although the program was a good one, I continue to have an interest in studying aviation and dispatch topics. By the way, I am not working as a dispatcher... I would like to take the time to pursue further studies. Due to the fact that your school has such a good reputation, I am interested in attending Sheffield. Would it be possible to attend your program even though I already have my certificate? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
H.D.

Hello Eric, Katja, and Brett!

This is Paul C., a graduate of the June/July 2006 Aircraft Dispatcher class. Upon graduating from your course, I went on to be a successful WestJet Flight Dispatcher in Calgary, Canada. I recommended the course to everyone that came through our office interested in pursuing the career and another one of WestJet's finest, T.C., took me up on the offer and was a graduate of your April/May 2007 class. She continues to be employed at WestJet.

Since leaving your course, I used the skills provided to me to become an success at my job and wanted to thank you for the excellent course you have put together at Sheffield. Since June 2008, I have been employed as a Flight Dispatcher at Virgin Blue Airlines in Brisbane, Australia. While Flight Dispatch is not licensed in Australia at this time, I feel that the skill set and FAA license provided to me by Sheffield School were an integral part in my successful application for this position. Also a sincere thanks to Brett, without his passion and drive as an instructor I feel the course would not have been as great a benefit. Please pass along my hello and thanks to him.

I wanted to send this correspondance as a thank you, a hello, and an offer to provide any information on the world of Flight Dispatch in Canada or Australia should any of your future students have any questions about it. I look forward to future communications with you.

Best regards,

Paul C.

Subject: Basic questions regarding training.
I have been interested in attending Sheffield to take the airline dispatcher training, ... I would like to say I have only heard great things about this school and its training. I recently flew to ------- to meet the VP's and regional managers of (airline), and they allowed me to spend about two hours in SOC, and have invited me back. When I asked what school would be most helpful, the answer was a unanimous "Sheffield." Even those who did not attend Sheffield thought you had the best program. That day helped me make my decision to attend Sheffield when the time comes.
Thank you for your time. JV

Subject: Hello From a Former Sheffield Student
Dear Eric Morris:
First, I want to say thank you for running such a top-notch dispatcher course. I attended your 6-week Aircraft Dispatcher Course in September-October of 2007. The quality of instruction I received has helped me grasp the nuances of the aircraft dispatch profession much quicker than I would have if I had attended another school. I am currently working for ...., and I am very much liking it. The quality of people at this company is amazing. Everyone is very personable and willing to lend a helping hand if need be.

Thank you very much for your time, and I wish you and Sheffield the best of luck in the future.
Sincerely,
B.Sh.

Hey Eric,
Just wanted to say thanks to you and to Brett for an excellent class. There were many things I learned that I either did not know coming into the class or that were correct and what I had previously learned was just flat wrong. Your schools' approach of "submersion training" is refreshing compared to the other "certificate mills". When I first looked into dispatching I figured with a background in aviation it would be relatively easy, but your course was most definitely a challenge.

Sincerely,
NF

The following 4 emails arrived within 1 day of each other - a good summary of what Sheffield consistently receives:

1/20/08 4:38 PM

"...I am still in the dispatch world working for ---- Airlines out of ---. It is more challenging than my previous job with ----, as now I dispatch 737s, 757s, and 767s all over the world. Other new hires have been assigned domestic flights only, while I have advanced to international flights. I attribute this to the excellent training I received at Sheffield..."
Thanks again,
T.W. June 07 class [Sheffield Graduate]

2 Separate emails (from NON-Sheffield grads) & 1 Catalog Request:

"I have a Dispatcher Cert. from ---- Academy .... I've been thinking of getting back into it. Could you adive (sic) me which course books would refresh the memory. I'm also interested in your advanced
training...Thanks!

Since my graduation, I have been applying to an aircraft dispatcher position but still I have no job. I have been thinking of a professional training to perform my studies and made the companies believe in my capabilities. I saw on your website that you offer some training to recent graduates and I would like to have your advice about my case. My resume is attached to further information about myself. I would really like to be in the aviation field again but since my experience is old and have some gaps may be the training will be very helpful.
Thanks in advance for your time.
I.P. (attended a school in the Northern U.S.)

[Sheffield graduates never write us of "training gaps" or request help from other "schools." 3 sad cases - try not to become one as well...EM]
